“These are days you’ll remember
Never before and never since, I promise
Will the whole world be warm as this
And as you feel it, you’ll know it’s true” - 10,000 Maniacs
The words are a bit out of context, but they fit the vibe for the final restart. Kelly and I have spent the last two days driving the van down to Arizona. When I stopped riding a couple weeks ago, the forecast for this area was in the high 80’s and it looked like I might be able to escape the summer heat in the Southwest. We made a stop in Zion National Park today on the way down and did a little hike to break up the drive and check another Park off the list. It was a toasty 104 when we were hiking. We’re in Page, Arizona tonight where the current temp at 9:30 is a mere 88. It should cool to the high 70’s by daybreak. Yikes. I’ve whined about a lot of different things during the course of this ride. I don’t recall the extreme heat warnings being one of them. Now, hopefully the list is complete. I brought 2 bikes so if I encounter any issues, I can just go to Plan B.
There will be 3 days of riding in the heat down here, a day with the family in Los Gatos, CA where my nephew said it was 117 today, then a drive to Klamath Falls and the final 3 days of riding.

A house on wheels. Bikes underneath the bed. Much more room without the hound.

It's great to see you are back out on the road! I really enjoy reading your posts over coffee in the morning.
That bed looks more comfortable than most hotel beds!
